The Evolution Of Mouse And The Problem With It.

I remember the first time I ever held a mouse in my hand, it was soft, fluffy and it’s a rat. I really don’t get it, why did the creator of the mouse named it mouse. Is it because if a kid drew a mouse it looked like a pointing device for computers? It beats me. The first generation of the mouse as far as I remember, is the one with a ball on it. Me and my high school pals used to steal the ball from the mouse in our library in high school and play ping-pong with it using our hands. Good times. The problem with mouse is that the ball gets lost like in my high school and it even gets dirty inside when it catches dirt from the pad. Did I mention it was heavy too? Plus, cleaning it was annoying, especially if you’re the OCD type. The crevices are just so impossible to reach. But nevertheless, our old ball mouse type lasted for five years. Then, years passed the Optical mouse was developed. Comparing it to the old mouse, the only problem with optical mouse is it doesn’t last long. That’s it. It only lasts for two years maximum in my experience, but using it is much better than the old one. I still believe in the saying that the heavier the gadget is the tougher it is, which is true with pointing devices. With the mouse in my mind, I came in to conclusion that the optical mouse is superior to the heavy old type mouse, why? Ergonomically wise, the optical mouse may be weak but at least it doesn’t make your wrist hurt.
