Me and my partner split about 2 years ago and it went ok, i did think it was going to be a long drawn out affair but we both wanted different things so that made it easier. We have never needed to go through the courts of anything with the kids because we are both pretty sensible and have always arranged it between ourselves. Recently though he has bee changing his mind a lot about dates and times and generally confusing matters. I have been looking at parents custody rights and not sure if i will be able to get full custody of the kids. I do not really want to go down this route but think i would be forced to if he did not start co-operating with me. The latest example is a parental medical consent letter that one of the kids brought home so they can go on a school trip, it needed both signatures and i signed it no problem but he was then trying to use it as a bargaining tool against me! I couldn’t believe it, trying to blackmail me with the kids school trip! its things like this that make me want to try and obtain full custody to stop the kids being messed about by him. I did eventually get him to sign the form after almost having to beg him but i shouldn’t have to! they are his kids too and he should take more responsibility. I do get some maintenance paid by him but i am starting to also think that perhaps he is not paying enough. i know he has had many payrises since he started paying so surely the maintenance amount should have gone up also
